Happy Day

Happy Day

How peaceful this day is!

No tremors, no emotional hang ups

No worries, no anxieties

I’m just at peace

an indescribable inner peace

for I know no matter what happens

be it strong storms or hurricanes

that create strong waves

in my spiritual life

My God is a big God,

Bigger than any of life’s obstacles

insurmountable they may seem to be

They can easily be crushed

dispersed and weakened

for God is powerful

and can make miracles.

Emptiness

There are times in my life
I can't explain why I feel empty
loneliness creeps in like a burglar forcing its way into the house at midnight
this hollow feeling lingers for sometime
and I can't figure out why

in times like this
I just lift my thoughts, my petitions
to the One God
who watches me each day
for I know He'll always be there
